The Water & Rails Pond & Garden Railroad Tour is a unique three-day event that allows participants to visit over fifty of the area’s most spectacular residential water features and outdoor garden railroads. This family oriented tour is a self-paced tour that was created as a way to showcase stunning examples of these landscape features, while raising money for charity. This year’s benefactors are ALS of Nevada and Artown. You are welcome to walk, bike, or drive yourself to any of the featured homes, visiting as few or as many as you like.

Enjoy the serenity and beauty of koi-filled ponds; delight in watching a scale model train travel one thousand feet of track, under tunnels and through miniature towns. It’s a fun day for all ages. Along the way, pick up tips on how to create your own pond and/or garden railroad.

HOW IT WORKS
Entry into Water & Rails costs $25 per person (children under 10 are free); the fee can be paid online at www.waterandrails.org or at the below locations. When the entry fee is paid, a wristband, which must be worn at all times on the tour, is issued. Getting maps and addresses for the tour is simply done by downloading them from www.waterandrails.org using, as the needed secret code, the number printed on the wristband.

This year’s event takes place July 18, 19, and 20; times are 7:00 to 10:30 p.m. on Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Complete information about the event can be found on the Web site.

TOUR TIPS
To make your Water & Rails experience as enjoyable as possible, take note of the following:
• Bring plenty of water and sunscreen.
• Each location will have a sign noting its participation for easy identification.
• Bring a detailed Reno/Sparks city map with you.
• Restrooms or phones are not available at any of the locations.
• As you enjoy each garden and railroad, please stay within the paths.
• This is a family event. If you do have children with you, please keep a hand on them at all times.
• Remember your wristband.

Benefactors
Monies raised by The Water & Rails Pond & Garden Railroad Tour go to ALS of Nevada and Artown.
