We recently asked interior designer Steve Gunderson to fill us in on what’s hot, fun, and exciting in design right now. Here’s what tickling his fancy this month.
Melamine Plate Sets by Pop Ink (above) Put some funky retro into your outdoor dining with these fun plates available through Velocity (www.velocityartanddesign.com). Made of heavy-duty melamine, they are both artistic and durable.

Old and New for Outdoors (above) Liven up old, used patio furniture with new items for a fresh look. Here, Gunderson has coupled a vintage table with new chairs he found at Ikea. Another of Gunderson’s favs: new cushions on used
patio chairs.

Bigger IS Better! (above) Forget cluttering surfaces with loads of small accessories; go big! One large object (such as this lamp) or a collection of a few bigger pieces (such as the white bowls far left) makes a bold statement and keeps your space looking clean.

JaDecor Natural Wallcovering (above) JaDecor is a patented mixture of natural fibers and minerals—read: it’s eco-friendly!—that is troweled on the wall. It is offered in over twenty-five standard decors as well as with over twenty additional components such as mica, silk, dyes, and metallics. And, not only is this material available in an unlimited number of looks, it is seamless and reparable, and has excellent acoustic and thermal properties. JaDecor can only be installed by a professional; locally, it is available through FauxEver Yours (315-FAUX [3289]) |
